The underworld of the Manuel Antonio coastline is absolutely thriving with coral and colorful marine life. Manuel Antonio is the perfect location for a scuba diving adventure because of the 12 islands around the coastline that offer plenty of dive sites. Many of our dive sites are a maximum of 20 minutes from the port.
When choosing a dive site, we consider your experience, preferences and local conditions to guarantee a great dive experience. Most dive sites are between 35 to 60 feet, though there are deeper sites for experienced divers. Dives typically last 45 minutes, you will see volcanic rock formations, hard and soft coral, marine life such as white tip reef sharks, angel fish, Moorish idols, parrot fish, puffer fish, octopus, crustaceans, sea turtles (from Dec-May) and the giant manta ray.
For divers without certification: We have a program that we offer divers who are not certified. This tour is called our Discovery Tour.
What does a discover scuba diving experience involve?
You will first watch a short DVD explaining dive basics, techniques and theory, then review the most important points with a PADI Professional, who will also answer any questions you may have. Then, under the direct supervision of a PADI professional you will discover how easy it is to use scuba in a pool and practice some basic skills. After that, when you are comfortable, you will then move on to do 2 oceans dives in the Manuel Antonio National Park!!
All our scuba tours include mask, fins, regulator, buoyancy compensator, submersible pressure gauge, and 3 mm wetsuit. All our scuba tour leave Quepos Marina with a captain and experience dive master.
